Mug Rugs For Mother Day Finished and Delivered

I think I posted about this 2 monthas ago , I took them home , added the batting and back to them and machine quilted about 22 of them, I do not have a photo of all.

Then I put the binding on and machine stitched a fancy stitch on each one .

On Mothers day they all gave out a mug rug to all the Ladies at church .

This one of the purple a teal Butterfly my Sarah made it for a friend of mine's friend that has stage 4 cancer.
We sent that and a card her sister made to him.2 weeks ago,Hope it cheered him up.

All the rugs were done with either Fabric markers, fabric crayons or paint , some used a stamp.

Spring Has Sprung Into Summer !

My Beautiful Yellow Rose and the prettiest one yet!

   

My Almost Black Rose is still as Red as can be .

 Rose of Sharon that my sister Tina rooted for me 3 years ago finally had 3 blooms at the same time .

I love the Kalanchoe ,I could not resit the white !

 I think this is Honeysuckle but a friend said it was Jasime either one is ok as it smells so good! It is now covering the fence between our house hope it gets bigger this year.

 Another new Kalanchoe but a gold color this time , I saw some bright orange from the distance at Walmart hope they still have some .

 I am not even sure I have a name for this plant , it wants to spread all over but it sure does have pretty blooms when it is blooming .

                             My Crown Of  Thorns is getting pretty big this year.

 These are just a few of the new flowers and plants that have come back and some new from Lowes  . I have worked out side every morning for 3 or 4 days , but it has been raining since yesterday, so nothing got done today, Still so much more to do and cleaning out areas for new flowers and the repotted plants .
We have had pretty nice days for a month and now all of a sudden it has been getting HOT! except for today it is lots cooler with the rain.
I hate to see how our summer is going to be as I have a hard time dealing with the heat over 75 degrees.
 In the afternoons I have been quilting another Baby quilt for an order ,plus some mug rugs for the children at church to give away for Mother's Day. I will be showing those later.

Baby Quilts ~ 2 More Great Grandson's

 I made this while at Mom's for the Spring Break with the kids .This was made for my Grandson and his wife.
Baby is due May 7th .

She really likes it !   

This one was a panel that I machine quilted for Sherry's baby boy due in June.

It was a surprise Shower for her as she lives in Indiana and came down to visit for Easter. Her sister Cheyenne planned the surprise shower for her.

New Quilt for Brandy

                            This is another quilt Mom has started for Brandy, my sister Tina picked the boarder and got the colors from that for the rest of the quilt, I love the pattern and the colors. Brandy and I like some of the same fabric colors, so I know she will like this!
 I think a purple binding will set it off good. Mom still has more to sew up and then she will hand quilt it .

Creative Grandchrildren

Last week was Spring Break for us , so Samantha and I had plans to go to Mom's and take both girls and Waylon with us.

we took it with us and the next day after getting to Grandma's she decided she was going to sew, while we were in another room she had already cut out 

what she wanted to make .

Rexa's Quilt

 My sister Rexa had seen this in a magazine I had taken to Mom's about 4 or 5 years ago , it started out small , then she decided she wanted it bigger so between Mom ,Rexa and I we had changed it around several times and added some other patterns that we liked.
 We have been working on it for 4 years putting it on the wall and Mom would take it down and work on it until we went back up to her house.Which was not real often , maybe every 4 months or longer.
This has been on the wall since the end of Dec of 2013 .

 Mom has had me working on the applique's every time I went up , and this last time we had almost all of it ready for the Blanket stitching ,so I finished all that while there last week .

It is now ready for Mom to put the blocks together

This last picture shows how it will look once she gets the blocks together, then the sashings , there will be a row of 2 inch squares then a 5 or 6 inch boarder.

 Mom will be doing hand quilting on it and adding the emboridered eyes to the insects and bunny rabbit.  

I will show a finish quilt when she gets it done .
