Calico's

I had a huge bag of fabric's given to me by a friends mother from church.
I am not sure how I want to used this fabric, a few years ago I would normaly use it for a poineer costume,so now either a scrapy quilt to look old, ruffled skirts for the girls to wear to church  or what ever ....any ideas ?

  1. Quilt backs, pillow cases for children's hospital, pillow case cover for donation quilts, strip pieced journal covers, and if all else fails a sting quilt! Once those calicos are cut into strings and mixed with newer scraps, they blend and look great. And when you get sick of them, do a giveaway.

  2. I agree with Debbie...scrap/string quilts! I also got some donated to me...and have started a split nine patch, and it looks really cool! Think of it as vintage fabric...and look at the quilt patterns popular at the time!

But, if all else fails...string quilts!!
