Lilah Paige's Memory Quilt

When a Great granddaughter was born with Brittle Bone Disease. the parents (My Oldest Grandson) and Lilah's  mother were told she would not live very long , they only gave her days. She lived  3 months and 12 days.
I had started her a quilt hoping to get it to her before she died ,but she passed on, so I decided to make it a Memory Quilt .I asked my Oldest Daughter Tammy for some pictures and anything in writing to put on it .
At the time I wanted to print the pictures on printable fabric. I had cut out Butterflies to put with the pictures as she loved them. But I did not have a printer so I just had a friend print the pictures on photo paper, I then cut them out and used the plastic folders the students use for school, .put the pictures in side and cut to fit ,then did a fancy stitch around each picture.
Tammy had told me that after she died there were several Butterflies flying around them. I also had that experience with a huge moth like Butterfly.
I had shown it to my daughter when she was here and finished it at Mom's the last time I went to visit her. I will be sending the Memory Quilt to my daughter to keep for everyone to see.

Blue Jean Beach Bag

My sister Tina asked me to make a big beach bag for her friend ,so I took a large pair of pants that I had on hand ,cut off the legs , use the legs for the side,handles and bottom then use pockets from other jeans on the sides and inside , there are 16 pockets all together.
I also made an extra pocket where the zipper is , kind of hard to do when you don't want the thread to show . I lined with a heavy cotton ,made a ruffle out of it for the front pockets ,then left a 1/4 inch showing around the top.Had a zipper flower on had to add to it, normally I would put a sraf in the belt loops , I left that up to her to add if she wants it .
Her friend loves the bag , I can make more to order.

Taffada Quilt Made from Samples

My sister gave Mom some fabric samples , this is what she did with them.

She did a fancy stitch in the ditch ,added a plum boarder and hand quilted some leaves on it, then use a green satin for the binding .

I forgot to take a picture of the finished quilt.

Small Rooster Wall hanging for Tammy

 My Oldest daughter wants a small wall hanging for her kitchen,when she was here for Spring break she saw this and loved it, so I put it together while at Mom's, I still have to machine quilt it and add the binding.
We all love roosters, so I want one for myself too, hope I can find some more of the roosters.

New Baby Quilt

This fabric was given to me , a couple years ago,it looked like it was for a crib bumper padding as there was a cutting line marked on it between the bears .so I added some yellow ric rack  it is good for a boy or girl.

Then I used a light green thread and did the swirly fancy stitch design on it instead of the straight quilting.

This is the back of the quilt and looks good either way.

I think I will try to sell this and make more as there are always request's for baby quilts .

New Blue Jean Bags

                      Extra Large bag for the Beach or just travel.
                      inside bag is brown satin to match the chiffon.
                        Lace is from different old dresses

This I found inside the pants pocket It says Original Faded Glory Authentic Denim 1972, I was shocked when I saw this and it was after the legs had been cut off . The bag sold right away!

Basket weave seams from cut off jeans over a green and blue plaid taffeda ,with braided handles , the other side has a painted pocket on it, forgot to take a pic. of that.
